HP is also an official partner at the Cannes Film Festival, showing a multi-touch wall.
DreamWorks Animation’s Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted has used HP technology for the animation team.
DreamWorks used HP technology that included HP Converged Infrastructure, HP Z Workstations, HP networking and server solutions, and digital rendering resources to create a new level of richness in an animated film.
“Our goal with every film is to push the limits of our creativity to bring the story to life for the audience,” said Ed Leonard, chief technology officer, DreamWorks Animation. “HP technology enables our artists to exceed those limits and focus on creating the most powerful 3-D animation experience.”
“HP Z Workstations power the creative genius at DreamWorks and help bring the next big thing in animation to audiences around the world,” added Jeff Wood, vice president, Worldwide Marketing, Commercial Solutions Business Unit, HP. “HP is committed to professionals in media and entertainment and will continue to work with leaders like DreamWorks to understand the needs of the industry and bring in the next big thing in technology.”
HP is an official partner in Cannes, and has been showcasing its large-scale, next generation ultra-high resolution (4098 x 1536) interactive multi-touch wall in the HP Lounge at Hôtel Majestic Barrierre.
“The entertainment industry is all about creating emotion. Large interactive display surfaces are incredibly important for the entertainment industry, where vivid, larger-than-life experiences are needed to draw movie goers into their creative minds and worlds. HP is a pioneer in immersive technologies such as VantagePoint that enhance the way people engage and enjoy film content,” said Jean-Pierre Le Calvez, HP.
