Titles include Chantrapas, Morgen, Tilva Rosh and Nénette
VOD service MUBI is to screen the competition titles from the second edition of the Mapfre Foundation’s 4+1 Film Festival (Oct 26-30), which takes place simultaneously in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico and Spain.
Among this year’s competition titles available on the site are Otar Ioselliani’s Chantrapas, which screened at Cannes and won a Jury Prize at Mar de Plata; Morgen (Marian Crisan), winner of a Don Quijote Award at Locarno; Tilva Rosh (Nikola Lezaic), also screened at that same event; Nénette (Nicolás Philibert), which played in Berlin and in San Francisco and Color Perro que Huye (Andrés Duque), which won the Audience Award in Punto de Vista.
The festival showcases films without local commercial distribution and bestows the “4+1 Audience Award for the Best Film”, which comes with a prize of €20,000 decided on by direct votes from audience members in the five participating countries.
The 2011 festival headquarters are in Mexico City’s Cineteca Nacional.
The Mapfre Foundation is a Spanish institution dedicated to promoting and financing general interest nonprofit activities.
