Universal Pictures’ subscription service PictureBox has acquired the on-demand rights in Poland to more than 30 films from the Walt Disney Company.
Films included in the agreement include the Pirates Of The Caribbean trilogy, The Incredibles, Face/Off and Pretty Woman.
Launched by Universal Pictures in 2006, the PictureBox service also operates on platforms in the UK and Singapore, with further global expansion planned.
“The addition of Disney and Disney/Pixar titles to the PictureBox lineup further underscores our commitment to provide subscribers a robust destination for entertainment,” said Belinda Menendez, president, NBC Universal International Television Distribution, which owns PictureBox parent company Universal Pictures.
“As PictureBox expands globally, we will continue forging new strategic alliances with content providers to enhance the brand and overall viewer experience,” she added.
