3D tech company strikes agreement with Kazakhstan’s Chaplin Cinemas.
RealD has entered the Kazakhstan market for the first time through an agreement with Kazakhstan’s Chaplin Cinemas.
The company’s 3D technology will be installed in seven screens across Chaplin Mango Cinema and Chaplin Mega Park, with the first of the screens expected to open later this month.
Chaplin Cinemas currently owns six cinemas across the country.
Robert Mayson, RealD’s managing director for Europe, said: “Eastern Europe continues to be a growth market, with 3D total box office revenue rising from $417 million in 2012 to $532 million in 2013. Kazakhstan has the potential to contribute to these figures.
