Transmedia Storyteller Ltd has launched Conducttr Mobile, a mobile app that allows audiences to participate in transmedia entertainment from their mobile devices.
Conducttr is a transmedia story authoring tool composed of a cloud-based network intelligence for narrative designers and an API for developers. The mobile app completes what Transmedia Storyteller describes as a “storytelling ecosystem”.
CEO of Transmedia Storyteller Ltd, Robert Pratten, launched the Conducttr mobile app during a keynote presentation to the Transmedia Living Lab in Madrid: “We continue to lower the technical and cost barriers for transmedia storytellers who want to explore new ways of engaging audiences. For stories and experiences hosted by Conducttr in the cloud, the optional use of Conducttr Mobile provides audiences with heightened experience through familiar game-based mechanics such as unlocking exclusive content and gaining XP and achievements for engaging with the storyworld.”
The Conducttr transmedia authoring system aims to provide content creators with “an end-to-end audience engagement solution”, allowing them to provide an array of immersive entertainment content – accessing exclusive content, competing or socialising with fellow participants, gaining achievements – without the cost of having to develop functionality from the ground up with a custom-built system.
Stories written with Conducttr can be told across social media, email, text message and any platform that uses the Conducttr API which could include game consoles and ebooks with Conducttr operating largely in the background.
Several transmedia stories are launching with the Conducttr mobile app including Roswell Amulet, a location-based scavenger hunt for the Roswell Film Festival and ComicCon 2012, and Psychophol, a Twitter and email-based interactive story for the movie The Mask Of The Red Death.
