Deal lays foundation for combined Projector.tv library of 6,000 titles.
UK VOD site Projector.tv, owned by Future Film Group, has signed an exclusive partnership to manage operations of Bollywood.tv, the internationally accessible VOD portal aimed at the Indian and non-resident Indian population and fans of Bollywood cinema.
Projector’s current library consists of 3,000 titles, 600 of which it displays on site. Bollywood.tv handles the same number of films. VOD revenue secured through Bollywood.tv is to be split between the two outfits.
Projector.tv also aims to build on Bollywood.tv’s sport and Asian music offering. The site regularly received more than one million hits when it recently hosted coverage of the Indian Cricket League.
Commenting on the new deal Kobi Prempeh [pictured], creative director Projector.tv, said: “Bollywood.tv’s greatest strength lies in its distinctiveness and comprehensive offering of South Asian films. By working in conjunction with Projector.tv, we can ensure both sites can work together to improve seo, their libraries of films and find cross-sell opportunities between their communities of film fans.”
