Former Intermedia and Summit executive Harold van Lier has been appointed head of international sales at StudioCanal. The company made the announcement Tuesday evening in Paris.
Van Lier officially took his post on October 1 and replaces Muriel Sauzay who left to become deputy managing director of Pathe Distribution (France) in charge of international sales in July.
Van Lier previously worked in international sales at Intermedia in both Los Angeles and London and later spent four years as sales manager for Summit.
In a statement, StudioCanal said that van Lier's mission will be to 'accentuate the presence of French films co-produced by StudioCanal abroad and to contribute to the development and exploitation of productions and multi-territory acquisitions of international films.'
He will be present at the upcoming AFM and will report to StudioCanal's Rodolphe Buet.
