The Sundance Institute has announced the seven projects chosen to participate in the fifth annual RAWI Middle East Screenwriters Lab.
The Lab is part of the Institute’s Feature Film Programme and is organised in association with the Royal Film Commission Of Jordan. It will take place in the Middle Eastern kingdom from October 3-7.
The projects and participants are: My Name Is Ali by Dima Hamdan (Jordan); Iksara by Suha Araj (Palestine/US); Small Victories by Jacob Kader (Palestine/US); The Replacement by Gilles Tarazi (Lebanon); Shelter by Kasem Kharsa (Egypt/US); Wajda by Haifaa Al Mansour (Saudi Arabia); and Father by Yann- Mounir Demange (Algeria/France).
The seven Fellows will work with creative advisors Karim Ainouz, Michael Almereyda, Ronan Bennett, Anthony Drazan, Ziad Doueiri, Yousry Nasrallah, Elena Soarez and Tyger Williams.
