The film Dramatic Competition entry recounts the true story of Hasidic Jews from New York who smuggled Ecstasy into the city in the 1990s. Key cast includes Justin Bartha, Q-Tip, Ari Graynor and Danny A Abeckaser, who also produced.
Kevin Asch made his feature directorial debut from a screenplay by Antonio Macia. Jen Gatien, Per Melita and Tory Tunnell produced alongside Abeckaser
“After five years of nurturing this deeply personal story, it’s especially gratifying to know that the film will be shared with audiences around the US under the watchful eye of Gary Rubin and First Independent,” Abeckaser said. “We share the same vision and belief in this beautiful and unique independent film.”
