The Foundation’s social justice fund JustFilms has awarded grants totalling $20m to films and film-makers over the last two years.
The eight Sundance films that have received “major financial support” from JustFilms are:
American Promise [pictured], Citizen Koch, Gideon’s Army, God Loves Uganda, Mother Of George, Valentine Road, Who is Dayani Cristal? and short film Outlawed In Pakistan.
Rich Peppiatt’s film won audience awards at Sundance and Galway and is being released next month in UK-Ireland.
Didi director Sean Wang, Sugarcane co-directors Julian Brave NoiseCat, Emily Kassie are also being feted in January 2025.
Film has also screened at SXSW, CPH:DOX, Full Frame Documentary Film Festival, Hot Docs.
New work from Spike Lee, Matthew Heineman, and Dev Patel.
