Theproduction arm of Barrandov Studios has announced further details of itscurrent slate.
It is shortly to appoint asales agent for Lunacy, the newproject from cult Czech animator Jan Svankmayer.
A co-production withAthanor, Czech TV and C-GA Film, Lunacy is inspired by Edgar Allan Poe and the Marquis De Sade. Combining liveaction with animation, it's being billed as a "philosophical horror" movie.
Lunacy is in post-production with a Czech release set forlater this year.
Inadvanced development is Sunstitute, the first feature from Martin Krejci.Presented in the Rottterdam CineMart earlier this year, the film is being setup by Barrandov Studios as a Czech/French/German co-production.
Barrandov is also innegotiations to board Oscar-winning Czech director Jiri Menzel's screenadaptation of I Served The King Of England, from the novel by Czechwriter Bohumil Hrabal (Closely Observed Trains.) The project is being put together Czech sales anddistribution outfit, AQS.
