Somewhat delayed, Sweden's leading cinema circuit, SF Bio - which programmes 242 screens all over the country - is ready to enter the digital era, having installed Real D equipment in eight auditoria in Stockholm (3), Gothenburg (2) and another three provincial cities.
The premiere will be Disney's Oscar-nominated Bolt, on Feb 6.
SF Bio had originally scheduled 3D screenings to start last autumn, opening with Journey to the Center of the Earth, but technical alterations of the theatres, including changing from Dolby to Real D projection, postponed the launch.
The chain's 3D repertoire will focus on animated family fare such as Bolt and Dreamworks' Monsters vs Aliens (a week after the March 27 US release). James Cameron's Avatar, from Fox, are among the films programmed for later this year.
