Mikael Marcimain’s political thriller to open festival, which will also screen Beasts of the Southern Wild and Xingu among others.
Mikael Marcimain’s thriller Call Girl will open The Stockholm International Film Festival (7-18 November).
Pernilla August, Sofia Karemyr, David Dencik and Kristoffer Joner star in TV director Marcimain’s feature debut about sweeping changes in 1970’s Sweden.
“We are very proud to present Mikael Marcimains feature film debut Call Girl as the opening film at this year’s Stockholm International Film Festival. He is one of Sweden’s most interesting directors and has reached big audiences through the acclaimed tv-productions Graven, Lasermannen and Upp Till Kamp, said festival director Git Scheynius.
Marcimain has also directed episodes of Wallander and was second unit director on Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.
Beasts of the Southern Wild, Xingu, Ava DuVernay’s Middle of Nowhere and The Paraden by Srdjan Dragojevic are among titles announced for the festival.
