Switzerland’s Oscar entry La Petite Chambre by Stéphanie Chuat and Véronique Reymond is among five
Swiss films nominated in this year’s Prix Europa competition, being held in Berlin from October 16 to
23.
The other nominees are Erik Bernasconi’s drama Sinestesia, which recently screened in competition at
Montreal; Petra Volpe’s TV film Frühling im Herbst, produced by Lucerne-based Zodiac Pictures; and the
two documentaries Daniel Schmid - Le Chat qui pense by Pascal Hofmann and Benny Jaberg; and The Woman
With The 5 Elephants (Die Frau mit den fünf Elefanten) by Vadim Jendreyko.
La Petite Chambre, which was produced by Zurich-based Vega Film, will also be competing against such
films as Feo Aladag’s When We Leave, Dietrich Brüggemann’s Run If You Can and Philippe de Guay’s V For
Vian for the Prix Genève-Europa awarded to a script by a new writer.
