Stephen Frears’ comedy Tamara Drewe will launch the Caribbean event on December 1 in Nassau.

Gemma Arterton stars as the ugly duckling turned beauty who causes a stir when she returns to her home village.

The film premried in Cannes and is based on Posy Simmonds’ graphic novel, which itself is inspired by Thomas Hardy’s classic Far From the Madding Crowd.

Sony Pictures Classics is releasing Tamara Drewe in the US. The festival runs from December 1-5.
