Telepool will handle world sales for Mike Marzuk's Summer (Sommer) which has gone straight to the top of the German box-office chart on its first four days of release with over 230,000 admissions from 407 screens.
The Walt Disney release of the SamFilm production had the weekend's best screen average of 567 admissions per screen and had almost double the admissions of another local hit, Constantin's school drama The Wave by Dennis Gansel.
The feel-good story of first love is a vehicle for up-and-coming German actor Jimi Blue Ochsenknecht who had made a name for himself until now in SamFilm's The Wild Soccer Bunch franchise and has been nominated in the category of best film newcomer at the New Faces Award being presented in Berlin on Thursday evening.
Jimi Blue has also followed in his father Uwe's footsteps by pursuing a musical career and is currently enjoying success with the CD release Hey Jimi and the publication of his own dedicated fan magazine. Summer will have its market premiere at next month's Marche du Film in Cannes.
