TF1 International has picked up worldwide rights to drama Starting Over from Chinese director Wang Chao, whose last film Luxury Car won the top prize in Un Certain Regard in 2006.
Sylvain Bursztejn's Paris-based Rosem Films, which co-produced Luxury Car, is again working with Wang on his new project.
Scheduled to start shooting in Hangzhou at the end of next month, Starting Over tells story of a doctor who faces a moral dilemma when his wife and her lover are seriously injured in a car crash and the wife loses her memory of the affair.
Despite the current censorship clampdown in China, the script of the film has been approved by China 's Film Bureau.
Rosem is also producing Lou Ye's drama Spring Fever, which Wild Bunch is selling, and Olivier Weber's documentary Cursed For Gold, about the damaging impact of the gold rush in the Amazon, which is on the France Televisions Distribution slate.
Bursztejn has also optioned Andre Malraux's novel Man's Faith which is currently in development with Lou Ye attached to direct.
