After having worked successfully with his last film, Arsene Lupin, TF1 International is selling Jean-Paul Salome's latest, Female Agents. Starring Sophie Marceau, Laura Smet, Julie Depardieu, Maya Sansa, Moritz Bleibtreu and Melvil Poupaud, the film is set in 1944 and follows a five-woman commando unit which parachutes into occupied France on a dangerous mission. Inspired by real-life events, the film is produced by Eric Neve of La Chauve-Souris and budgeted at Euros 25Mn. Shooting will begin in March and a script will be available for buyers at the Rendez-Vous. First images are expected at the AFM.
Also on deck is a romantic comedy from Emmanuel Mouret entitled Shall We Kiss' Produced by Eric Niedermayer of Moby Dick Films, Kiss stars Virginie Ledoyen, Stefano Accorsi, Julie Gayet and Mouret himself.
The $4.5m (Euros 3.5m) film just began shooting with a script available for distributors.
Screenings at the Rendez-Vous for TF1 include Crime Insiders from director Frederic Schoendoerffer and starring Benoit Magimel, Philippe Caubere and Beatrice Dalle; Free Land by Christophe Malavoy and the highly-anticipated Treasure Island from Alain Berberian. For the latter, a pirate adventure, TF1 will have stars Gerard Jugnot and Jean-Paul Rouve on hand at the premiere.
Meanwhile, TF1 currently has such hotly-tipped projects as La Vie En Rose and White Tuft, The Little Beaver in post-production. The former is a biopic of Edith Piaf starring Marion Cotillard and directed by Olivier Dahan while the latter is the next film from The Besieged Fortress director Philippe Calderon about a beaver family in the Canadian wilds and starring real-life animals. La Vie En Rose is set for a Valentine's Day release in France.
