BAFTA-nominated director Thaddeus O’Sullivan (Ordinary Decent Criminal, The Heart Of Me) will direct Obsession after completing his BBC Churchillbiopic, Into The Storm.
Obsession , a psychological thriller, was adapted by screenwriter Rob Green from Coppel’s book A Man About A Dog.
The book, which was already adapted as The Hidden Room by Edward Dmytryk in 1949, is a tale of a three-way power game involving a doctor who takes hostage his wife’s lover in upscale Manhattan.
The project, produced by Richard Johns (Killing Time) at Think Tank Films and Rupert Jermyn at Marlin Entertainment is now casting and is slated for production in Detroit and New York in the summer.
Marlin Entertainment’s chairman and Star Wars producer Gary Kurtz commented, ’ We’re thrilled that Thaddeus is on board to direct this exciting project. He brings with him years of film-making experience with actors and technicians at the very highest level in the industry, promising to turn this unusually compelling story into a film which is truly memorable.’
