Thai producer-distributor GMM Tai Hub (GTH) has scored an early pre-sale on romantic comedy Knowing Me Knowing You, which has been acquired by Queen Film for Indonesia.
The $1.5m film recently finished shooting in South Korea, where the story is entirely set, and is scheduled for release in Thailand at the end of July or beginning of August. It is the first solo directorial effort from Banjong Pisanthanakun who co-directed horror hits such as Shutter (2004), Alone (2007), 4BIA (2008) and Phobia 2 (2009).
GTH also closed two remake deals during the Cannes market – India’s Global One Studio acquired Hindi-language remake rights to Alone, which Banjong co-directed with Parkpoom Wongpoom, while Hong Kong-based One Dollar took Mandarin-language remake rights to Adisorn Tresirikasem’s romantic comedy BTS: Bangkok Traffic Love Story.
