Ziad Doueiri’s drama was the big winner as the 17th City Of Lights, City Of Angels French film festival concluded, earning the audience award, the Critics Special Prize and the Coming Soon Award.
Cohen Media Group will distribute The Attack [pictured] in the US on Jun 21.
Stéphane Brizé’s A Few Hours Of Spring was awarded the LAFCA Critics Award by the Los Angeles Film Critics Association jury.
The Audience Special Prize went to Christian Vincent’s Haute Cuisine and the First Feature Award was presented to Régis Roinsard’s Populaire. The COL•COA Documentary Prize went to Philippe Béziat’s Becoming Traviata.
The Lizards, directed by Vincent Mariette, won the Jury Short Film Award while the audience short film award was tied between Morrigane Boyer, Julien Hazebroucq, Ren-Hsien Hsu, Emmanuelle Leleu and William Lorton’s A La Francaise and Pascal Tessaud’s City Of Light.
The week-long festival set an attendance record of 19,000 at the DGA in Los Angeles. Thirty-one features and documentaries and 19 shorts competed for the 2013 COL•COA Awards.
