The Beautiful Person (France)
Dir: Christophe Honore
One of France's most exciting new talents, Honore's adaptation of the classic novel La Princesse De Cleves sees the 17th-century tale transplanted to modern day Paris. Louis Garrel stars in the drama about a student, played by Lea Seydoux, who falls for her teacher. Honore's previous film Les Chansons D'Amour was in competition at Cannes last year.

Tiro En La Cabeza (Spain)
Dir: Jaime Rosales
Rosales' drama sees three men's journey across the border from Spain into France turn to disaster when they get into an altercation and kill two plain-clothed civil guards. The film shot for two weeks in San Sebastian itself. Rosales has seen his stock rise considerably thanks to his best director win at this year's Goya awards for Solitary Fragments (La Soledad).
