The Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) announced that the documentary feature film, The Day After Peace, has been chosen as part of the line up for 2008. The choice of film reflects the organisers support for film-makers who promote worldwide peace.
'The film has a cultural bridge theme furthering the Festival's mandate to create intercultural understanding through the language of Cinema. DIFF is an ardent supporter of films that address issues of conflict and promote global harmony' said DIFF Chairman Abdulhamid Juma.
The Day After Peace follows the 10-year journey of award winning filmmaker Jeremy Gilley to establish a globally recognized annual day of ceasefire and non-violence. The documentary features the Dalai Lama, Kofi Annan, Jude Law, Angelina Jolie, Annie Lennox and Kofi Annan, all of whom lent their support to his efforts.
The Dubai International Film Festival will run from 11 December until 18 December.
