Tizza Covi and Rainer Frimmel’s The Little One (La Pivellina) (pictured) won the best feature film award at the Gijon International Film Festival in Spain, which closed on Saturday (November 28).
The film, an Italian-Austrian co-production, tells the story of circus folk who take in an abandoned little girl. Patrizia Gerardi picked up the best actress award for her role as an anxious, middle-aged circus performer.
Meanwhile, Lynn Sheldon took the best director award for Sundance hit Humpday, its stars Mark Duplass and Joshua Leonard also shared the best actor award.
