The Match Factory has added Aleksi Salmenpera’s third feature, Bad Family (Paha Perhe), to its Berlinale slate. The film will have its international premiere in the Panorama section.
The tragicomedy, which features Screen Star of Tomorrow Pihla Viitala, was produced by Aki Kaursimaki and was released by Sandrew Metronome in Finland last week.
The addition brings The Match Factory’s slate of Berlinale titles to six. It also has Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman’s Howl; Semih Kaplanoglu’s Honey (Bal); Thomas Vinterberg’s Submarino, Rafi Pitts’ The Hunter (Shekarchi) and Jasmila Zbanic’s On The Path (Na Putu). All five are in competition.
