The Match Factory will handle international sales for Tom Tykwer’s latest feature film, Three (Drei) which completed principal photography in Berlin last week.
The $7.2m (€4.8m) project is Tykwer’s first German project for ten years and is also his first self-penned feature since The Princess And The Warrior in 2000. Three, which focuses on the dynamics of a love triangle, stars Sophie Rois, Devid Striesow and Sebastian Schipper.
“Three is very much in our tradition together,” says producer Stefan Arndt of X Filme Creative Pool. “We have always been interested in the workings of love and Tom’s first feature Deadly Maria dealt particularly intensively with love and emotions.
“Three, meanwhile, centres on three characters in their mid-40s and the appearance of obsessions one had never imagined existed.”
The Match Factory’s Michael Weber is already expecting strong international interest for the film.
