Cologne-based sales agent The Match Factory will handle international sales on four new films invited to screen in Berlinale's Competition.
The films are:
Uruguayan filmmaker Adrian Biniez's comedy Gigante, starring Horacio Camandulle, Leonor Svarcas;
The Milk Of Sorrow (La Teta Asustada), from Barcelona-based Peruvian director Claudia Llosa;
Veteran Greek director Theo Angelopoulos's drama The Dust Of Time, starring Willem Dafoe, Irene Jacob, Michel Piccoli and Bruno Ganz, which will be screened 'out of competition'; and
The omnibus film Germany 09 - 13 Short Films About The State Of The Nation which will also be screened out of competition.
The latter project was the brainchild of Tom Tykwer, and brings a group of his director colleagues together to give their personal takes on the social and political situation of contemporary Germany. It includes the first film by Wolfgang Becker since Good Bye, Lenin!
In addition, The Match Factory has taken on international sales for Lars Jessen's Dorfpunks, based on the novel of the same name by Rocko Schamoni which will have its world premiere in the Perspektive Deutsches Kino sidebar.
