The 22nd annual Palm Springs International Film Festival (PSIFF) will bestow the Ensemble Performance Award upon The Social Network.

Sony’s heavyweight awards contender stars Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield, Justin Timberlake, Armie Hammer and Rooney Mara and crossed $100m overseas at the weekend. The global tally stands at approximately $192m.

The film has already earned best picture honours from the New York Film Critics Circle and the Los Angeles Film Critics Association and received six Golden Globe nominations and two from the Screen Actors Guild.

The PSIFF awards gala is set for January 8 and the festival runs from January 6-17.
