The Weinstein Company has acquired rights from Munich-based Telepool for all English-language and Latin-American territories for the European 3D animated film Niko & The Way To The Stars by Michael Hegner and Kari Juusonen.
Described as 'a modern-day fairytale for the whole family', the CGI-animated film about the adventures of the little reindeer Niko will have its European premiere on October 10, 2008 in Scandinavia where it is being released by Nordisk Film.
Telepool has sold the German-Finnish-Irish-Danish co-production to more than 100 territories so far, with Universum releasing in Germany and Filmax in Spain.
