The Works International has boarded worldwide rights to music documentary Artifact, winner of the People’s Choice Award Documentary at TIFF.
Thirty Seconds to Mars frontman Jared Leto - under pseudonym Bartholomew Cubbins – directs the fly on the wall doc about the LA rock band’s album recording and brutal lawsuit with its label. Leto produced with Emma Ludbrook.
Clare Crean and Andy Ordonez of The Works International negotiated the deal with CAA.
Crean said: “We are thrilled to be representing Artifact. The film is a true expose of the music industry and highlights the rollercoaster ride Thirty Seconds To Mars have taken, from being sued for $30 million by their own record company to becoming one of the biggest bands of this generation.”
The band has sold more than 6.5m albums and has picked up 11 MTV Awards.
