Once’s John Carney co-write and co-directed the Tribeca hit with his brother Kieran.
The Works International has taken international sales rights to zany comedy Zonad, which was a hit at Tribeca. Once’s John Carney co-write and co-directed with his brother Kieran.
The film is a gleefully unhinged comedy about the adventures of an (alleged) visitor from space in a small Irish town.
Zonad is an Element Pictures production in association with RTÉ with the participation of the Irish Film Board) The film is produced by Ed Guiney, Andrew Lowe, and John McDonnell (Song for a Raggy Boy).Cinetic Media is handling US rights.
“Zonad is the most hysterically funny film I’ve seen for a long time. Simon Delaney is the spitting image of John Belushi and brings to mind a lot of the madcap spirit of Saturday Night Live but it also has that great Dude,Where’s my Car? and The Hangover sensibility,” said Carl Clifton, MD of The Works International.
