Joel & Ethan Coen's No Country For Old Men and Paul Thomas Anderson's There Will Be Blood lead the Oscar race with eight nods each; Tony Gilroy's Michael Clayton and Joe Wright's Atonement follow with seven each.

All are in the Best Picture race, along with Jason Reitman's Juno. Wright is the only Best Picture nominee not in the Best Director race, with that slot going to Julian Schnabel for The Diving Bell And The Butterfly.

After the frontrunners, Ratatouille has five. Juno,and The Diving Bell And The Butterfly eachgarnered four nominations. Sweeney Todd, La Vie En Rose and The Golden Compass had three each. Double nominations went to Away From Her, The Bourne Ultimatum, The Assassination of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford, Into The Wild, Elizabeth: The Golden Age, The Savages, American Gangster, Transformers, and 3:10 To Yuma.
