German independent distributor Tiberius Film has been on an early Cannes buying spree.
At the start of the Cannes market, the company has announced a number of news pick-ups, among them The Side Effect (sold by Celluloid Nightmares starring Liv Tyler); Java Heat (sold by IM Global and starring Mickey Rourke [pictured]); The To Do List (sold by Lionsgate and starring Rachel Bilson and Bill Hader and Andy Samberg); Paris Countdown (from Gaumont) and SXSW hit The Aggression Scale (sold by Epic.)
“This is a wonderful start to this year’s market. In particular I am extremely proud to continue our longstanding relationships with IM Global, Gaumont and Lionsgate. It is our first deal with Celluloid Nightmares and I think this is going to be a relationship with enormous potential,” commented Wolfgang Carl, Managing Partner of Tiberius Film GmbH & Co.
