Nordic sales outfit NonStop Sales has sold two of itstitles, UNO and Slim Susie, to the US. Both deals were concludedat this month's AFM.
Norwegianactor Aksel Hennie's directing debut UNO secured a US distribution dealwith Philadelphia-based TLA Releasing.
"UNOis an exciting and unexpected blend of art film, action drama and characterstudy,' said TLA's Director of Acquisition Richard Wolff. "Hennie isclearly a talent to watch as a writer-director, and audience's enthusiasticresponse at Toronto convinced us that this film was right for TLA - and thatTLA was right for this film."
Apopular festival title after making its debut at the Norwegian Film Festival inHaguesund, UNO has since screened in Toronto, San Sebastian, London andGhent among others.
Theurban drama about a young man torn between loyalty to his family and hiscriminal friends also stars Hennie, and is the most popular local film at theNorwegian box-office so far this year.
Swede Ulf Malmros' comedy-drama Slim Susie, which wasreleased locally in 2003, was picked up for US distribution by Home VisionEntertainment. It was also previously sold to German DVD distributor I-On NewMedia, Czech's Hollywood Classics, Baltic's BDG and Russia's Beliven.
