TheToronto International Film Festival has appointed three new Canadianprogrammers. Marguerite Pigott, a film and television consultant and formerdevelopment and production executive at Odeon Films, and Jesse Wente, a filmcritic and producer for CBC Radio, will join Canadian feature selectors StaceyDonen, Steve Gravestock and festival co-director Noah Cowan.
AgataSmoluch Del Sorbo joins the Short Cuts Canada programming committee alongsideBen Murray and Donen.
"We'rethrilled to have such a powerhouse team on board," said festival co-directorNoah Cowan in a statement.
"Marguerite, Jesse, andAgata all bring expertise, knowledge, and passion for Canadian cinema that willbe invaluable in selecting the best Canadian films for the Festival in 2006."
