Toronto International Film Festival organisers have scheduled a special screening of Shane Salerno’s documentary Salinger.

The film follows literary legend J D Salinger, author of The Catcher In The Rye. Salinger will screen on Thursday evening.

During the nine years of production, Salerno interviewed hundreds of people, many of whom had previously declined to go on the record about their relationship with the reclusive author.

The film features eyewitness accounts from Salinger’s World War II comrades, family members, close friends, lovers, classmates, neighbours, his editors, his publishers and his New Yorker colleagues.
