Trailer Park Boys: Countdown To Liquor Day will have its world premiere at the NBC Universal Canada Opening Gala of the 29th Atlantic Film Festival on September 17.
Mike Clattenburg’s film reunites the cast from Canada’s most popular TV series. The new film, shot on location in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, follows Ricky, Julian and Bubbles as they are released from prison and try to make their way on the straight and narrow.
“This film is the quintessential opening for us-celebrating the most successful film and TV franchise on the east coast-while at the same time giving us the opportunity to pay tribute to such an amazing cast and crew-fans will love it!” said festival director Lia Rinaldo. “The Trailer Park Boys are coming back home to where they first hit the big screen.”
Trailer Park Boys: Countdown to Liquor Day will open theatrically in Canada on September 25 through Alliance Films.
The 10-day festival, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, will have an opening night concert and party to follow the screening. The festival’s full schedule will be announced August 18.
