John Carney’s Toronto smash formerly known as Can A Song Save Your Life? starring Keira Knightley and Mark Ruffalo will close the festival on April 26.
The Weinstein Company paid $7m with a $20m P&A commitment for US rights early in the Toronto International Film Festival last September and will release in July. Exclusive Media handled international sales.
Hailee Steinfeld and Adam Levine round out the cast on the story of a young songwriter in New York who meets a disgraced record executive.
“Begin Again is a true New York story about the magical opportunities that can be found under this great city’s bright lights,” said Carney. “That said, I can’t think of a better place to have its US premiere than the Tribeca Film Festival.”
The 13th annual Tribeca Film Festival will run from April 16-27.
