Truly Indie has acquired US theatrical rights to Bruce Van Dusen's coming of age story Backseat and will release in New York on Mar 28 before expanding into further markets.
Josh Alexander wrote and stars in the comedy about three friends who take a road trip from New York to Montreal as the demands of adulthood loom on the horizon.
Rob Bogue, Will Janowitz and Aubrey Dollar also star. Alexander produced with Terry Leonard and Henry Hardaway, Jeff Mooallem, Casey Cummings and Digital Domain's John Textor served as executive producers.
Alexander, Hardaway and Leonard negotiated the deal with Truly Indie executive director Kelly Sanders and head of business and legal affairs Jason Janego.
