Trust Film Sales sold Anders Nilsson's Swedish box-office hit The Third Wave (Den Tredje Vagen) to a number of territories at last week's MIFED.
Among the buyers were Summerstorm Entertainment (Hong Kong, China, Taiwan), ATLAS Film + Medien (Germany, Switzerland, Austria) and Intersonic Inc. (Hungary, the Czech and Slovak Republic). Mikado Film took both The Third Wave and Executive Protection for Italy.
The partly English-language action-thriller is the third instalment in the writer-director's trilogy following the box-office hits Zero Tolerance (1999) and Executive Protection (2001), and again sees a former policeman dealing with pan-European organised crime.
It was shot in the UK, Sweden, the Netherlands, France and Germany, and has so far grossed a healthy $2.4m in five weeks at the local box-office. It was produced by Sonet Film's Joakim Hansson.
