Story is about three teenage girls in 1980s Stockholm.
TrustNordisk will kick off pre-sales for Swedish director Lukas Moodysson’s new project at this year’s European Film Market in Berlin.
Moodysson wrote Vi Ar Bast (with the international title yet to be determined) based on Coco Moodysson’s graphic novel Never Goodnight. The story is about three young teenage girls who form a punk band in 1980s Stockholm.
“Lukas Moodysson is one of the most acclaimed directors in Nordic cinema and we are proud to launch presales on this delightful and warmhearted film.” says Rikke Ennis, CEO at TrustNordisk.
Vi Ar Bast stars newcomers Mira Barkhammar, Mira Grosin and Liv LeMoyne as Bobo, Klara and Hedvig while supporting roles will be played by David Dencik, Johan Liljemark, Anna Rydgren and Mattias Wiberg.
It marks the director’s seventh feature after such international hits as Fucking Amal, Together, and Lilya 4-Ever.
Producers are Lars Jönsson for Memfis Film, co-produced by Film I Väst, SVT and Zentropa in co-operation with Denmarks Radio and with support from the Swedish Film Institute, The Danish Film Institute and Nordisk Film and TV Fund.
Svensk will release locally in autumn 2013.
