Celebrity chef Mario Batali has joined MPI Media Group’s darkly comic thriller Bitter Feast, currently filming in Manhattan and Woodstock in New York state.

Joe Maggio wrote and is directing the story starring James LeGros as a New York chef and TV personality who takes culinary revenge on a critic who savages his restaurant. Josh Leonard plays the critic and Batali will portray the restaurant owner.

MPI Media Group and Glass Eye Pix are producing with producer Larry Fessenden, who also appears in the film.

Fessenden and MPI recently teamed up to produce Ti West’s House Of The Devil slated for an autumnl release through Magnolia pictures.
