Tom Tykwer's 10-minute short True is to be released in Germany by X Verleih as a supporting film for Achim von Borries' Love In Thoughts which has its world premiere at this month's Sundance Film Festival.
True was directed by Tykwer in Paris over four days in August 2002 as a segment of the Paris, Je T'Aime international anthology of films dedicated to the 20 districts of Paris and stars Natalie Portman and Melchior Beslon. It was produced by X Filme creative pool with Paris-based Novem Production.
After shooting True, Tykwer admitted one regret about this film: "It's too short! It's only 10 minutes long, and when I saw it, I said to myself, 'There's a full movie in there.' I wish we could have done a 90-minute version of it, but maybe we'll do that later."
True and Love In Thoughts (Was Nuetzt Die Liebe In Gedanken) will open in German cinemas on 12 February after the European premiere of von Borries' film in the Panorama section of the Berlinale.
