EXCLUSIVE: Wide House has closed a UK theatrical deal for Johnny Cash doc My Father And The Man In Black with Ballpark Film Distributors.
Wide House and New Chapter Productions closed the deal with Ballpark.
The film chronicles the relationship between Johnny Cash and Saul Holiff, his long term manager. It explores how this impacted on the people around them - in particular the director of the film, Jonathan Holiff, the son of Cash’s manager.
The film uses unseen footage and archive material - discovered in a secret storage lock up - that provides the framework of the story.
Ballpark will release the film theatrically in the UK and Ireland this spring with the DVD following in mid-September to coincide with the 10th anniversary of Cash’s death.
Wide House has worldwide rights and is screening the film at EFM.
New UK distributor Ballpark will be announcing further acquisitions in the near future.
