Framestore, the Oscar-winning provider of visual effects, animation and computer generated imagery announced that it plans to consider interest in the company from potential new investors.
The company hopes to aid the growth of its business and has instructed Hawkpoint Partners to investigate options, including the introduction of an external investor.
William Sargent, Chief Executive of Framestore, said 'With the demand for visual-rich content driving growth in all the sectors in which we operate, we see significant and exciting opportunities for our business in the years ahead. We have a clear strategy to invest in new ventures, develop new technologies and build our skill base in order to capitalise on these opportunities.'
Framestore won the 2008 Academy Award and BAFTA Award for Visual Effects for The Golden Compass. Other international awards to date include two Technical Academy Awards, three other BAFTA Craft Awards and thirteen Primetime Emmy Awards.
Recent film work includes The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, all of the Harry Potter films and Batman: The Dark Knight.
