Frameline34, the San Francisco International LGBT Film Festival, closed on June 27 with Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman’s Howl.
From June 17-27 the event screened 219 films and organisers estimated attendance at approximately 57,000.
The Frameline Outstanding First Feature Award went to Javier Fuentes-Leon’s Centerpiece film Undertow and Raphael Alvarez and Tatiana Issa’s Brazilian entry Dzi Croquettes won the Frameline Outstanding Documentary Award.
In the audience awards, best feature film was awarded to Mehdi Ben Attia’s Tunisian film The String while best documentary award went to The Topp Twins: Untouchable Girls. Best Short Film went to Remember Me In Red directed by Hector Ceballos.
