Scott Bernstein has been promoted to Universal Pictures’ executive vice-president of production.
Bernstein reports to production chief Debbie Liebling and was named senior vice-president of production in 2007.
His credits include Hellboy II: The Golden Army, The Break-Up and Role Models. Bernstein is currently working on the comedy Your Highness, as well as the prequel to John Carpenter’s The Thing.
He is developing Dark Horse’s graphic novel The Umbrella Academy and Battlestar Galactica.
“Scott has a real sense of what’s next in pop culture which informs his work on comedies and genre films,” the studio’s co-chairman Donna Langley said. “He’s been a great asset to the studio and we’re glad to have him on our team.”
Bernstein was a production executive at Revolution Studios, served as vice-president of production and development at Lionsgate and vice-president of production and development at Ignite Films
