Universal Pictures’ subscription service PictureBox will now be available on Multimedia Polska.
Universal Pictures and Multimedia Polska have launched PictureBox, marking the second platform launch for the movie-on-demand service (wholly owned by Universal Pictures) in Poland.
Subscribers to the service on Multimedia Polska will be able to view current and library films from NBC Universal and other content suppliers, including the Walt Disney Company after a deal was struck last June. 16 features will be available at any given time with four new films on a weekly basis, many of which will not have made their free-to-air premiere in Poland.
Films scheduled to appear include The Incredibles, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, Wanted and Coraline.
“This is a landmark deal for PictureBox, as it establishes yet another major market multiple-platform home for the service,” said Belinda Menendez, president, NBC Universal International Television Distribution.
PictureBox is also available on the “n” platform in Poland and multiple platforms in the UK (including BT Vision and Virgin Media), Ireland and Singapore.
