WarnerBros will release an IMAX version of action-adventure V For Vendetta simultaneous with the March 17 domestic release ofthe conventional version of the film.
StarringNatalie Portman, the film is directed by statement McTeigue and produced by theWachowski Brothers and Joel Silver. In a release, Dan Fellman, president ofdomestic distribution for Warner referred to the popularity of the Wachowskis' TheMatrix Reloaded and The MatrixRevolutions in the format.
It'sthe sixth IMAX version of a conventional film set for release in 2006 Imax hassigned agreements with Warner to release 2D versions of Poseidon and Superman Returns, as well as 3D versions of animated movies AntBully and Happy Feet, and the underwater documentary Deep Sea 3D.
More titles may be on theway. IMAX said it expects that a re-formatted film to be released every six toeight weeks.
