Following its tradition of attracting high-profile independent premieres for Spain, the 48th annual Valladolid International Film Week (Oct 24-Nov 1) will open with Lars von Trier's Dogville and close with Woody Allen's Anything Else.
Four Spanish productions have also been unveiled for the official competition: Santi Amodeo's Astronautas, Angeles Gonzalez-Sinde's La Suerte Dormida, Salvador Garcia Ruiz's Las Voces De La Noche and Eduardo Mignona's Cleopatra.
Three von Trier-related documentaries will screen in the sidebar Meeting Point section: The Five Obstructions, co-directed by von Trier and Jorgen Leth; Sami Saif's Dogville Confessions about the making of the film; and Jesper Jergil's The Purified about the Dogme movement.
